The Canoe Safety Test (CST) aims to provide a paddler with the necessary safety awareness which will enable them to ensure the safety of themselves and others. It also provides a paddler with rescue skills which can be used to help themselves and/or others in difficulty. It is aimed at placid water paddling and is the minimum recommended level for Members paddling at the Club’s outdoor venues when not part of a group being taught by a Qualified Coach (Level 2 or above). See July 2005 Newsletter for more detail.
