Pitches
The Pitches are designated as
follows:-
Pitch A - nearest the Merseysport centre building.
Pitch B - the middle pitch.
Pitch C - farthest away from the Merseysport centre
building.
Men’s Championships Format
·
The Men’s competition
initially consists of four Pools of four Teams each.
·
Teams in each Pool will
play each other to determine their relative positions.
·
The top two Teams from
each Pool will then play cross-over games to decide positions 1st to
8th.
·
The bottom two Teams
from each Pool will play cross-over games to decide positions 9th to
16th.
Ladies’ Championships Format
·
The Ladies’ competition
initially consists of two Pools of six and five Teams respectively.
·
Teams in each Pool will
play each other to determine relative positions.
·
The top two Teams from
each Pool will then play off for positions 1st to 4th.
·
The third and fourth
placed Teams in each Pool will then play off for positions 5th to 8th.
·
The fifth and sixth
placed Teams from Pool X, and the fifth placed Team from Pool Y, will then play
off for positions 9th to 11th.
Games
·
ICF Rules will apply
throughout the Championships.
·
All Games will consist
of two 10 minute halves with a 2 minute half time break.
·
Time out will be called
after a goal is scored.
·
After the initial games
in Pools, all subsequent games will require a Winner and a Loser (not a draw).
·
If required, golden goal
extra time of up to two periods of 3 minutes each will be played with the team
scoring the first goal deemed to be the Winner. There will be 1 minute break
before the golden goal extra time commences and between halves, with change of
ends.
·
If at the end of both
halves of extra time there is still no Winner, a Tiebreaker Penalty Shoot-Out
will be held from 4.5 metres distance with a Goal Keeper in place. Each Team
will have 5 penalty shots to determine the Winner. If the scores are still
level then golden goal penalties will be played.
·
Three points will be
awarded for a win, two points for a draw, and one point for a loss.
·
Games are scheduled to
start every 30 minutes throughout the weekend. If one Team fails to turn up on
time they will score no points, and the Team they should have played will be
awarded the game with a score of 3-0 and will receive 3 points.
·
Will all Timekeepers, Teams, and Referees please
ensure we do not lose time between games so that we can keep to the Games
Schedule.
Referees
·
Teams are required to
provide two suitably qualified Referees for their designated games.
·
Will Referees please
check the times they are required to officiate and report to the appropriate
Pitch Control Tent in plenty of time for their games.
·
The one exception to
this requirement is for Pitch C (farthest away from the Merseysport centre
building) as one Referee will be required to officiate from the dock wall above
the pitch.
·
Immediately after
completion of their game will the Lead Referee please check and sign the Score
Sheet before leaving the Pitch.
·
To comply with local
Health and Safety Rules all Referees must wear a buoyancy vest.
Access to Pontoons
·
Access to the Pontoons
is restricted to designated Tournament Officials, Referees officiating their
games, and a maximum of two Coaches per Team during their games. To comply with
Health and Safety Rules all persons on the pontoons must wear a buoyancy
vest.
Jury
·
A Championships Jury
will be selected at the Briefing Meeting on Saturday morning before
commencement of the games. If any playing disputes arise during the course of
the Championships the Jury will be asked to adjudicate accordingly.
Please
note that the subsequent decision of the Jury will be final.
Scrutineering
·
Scrutineering of boats
and equipment may take place at any time during the Championships. A dedicated
area at Merseysport will be available for scrutineering and those players
selected at random will be advised to report for checking of their equipment.
It
should be anticipated that at least one player from each Team will be required
to report for scrutineering checks.
